Our client wanted to gain a comprehensive understanding of their current licensing position and future costs associated with Microsoft Power Platform products. Synyega were engaged to identify opportunities to confirm licensing requirements, reduce licensing costs, and model future scenarios across Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. Synyega worked closely with internal subject matter experts, reviewed data from several areas, and conducted interviews and discussion sessions with key stakeholders from several relevant teams to understand:

  • the current environment
  • how the various products were used
  • how they interacted with each other via internal systems

Future growth, both of the organisation and the use of Microsoft products, as well as organisational changes were also considered as part of the licensing review and recommendations. Synyega reviewed the technical systems and designs that underpinned the current implementations and made suggestions for architectural changes that would reduce the overall license requirements and spend.

Recommendations were also made for changes which would enable greater value to be realised from the solutions, at minimal additional cost, whilst reducing the risk of potential non-compliance in the future. Although not all recommendations could be implemented immediately, the report helped to give guidance for decisions that may be taken in the future – helping offer long-term benefits.
