A Vendor Migration Report was produced including detailed data from the current estate which was then skilfully modelled by our team into the proposed transformation and cloud migration plans. This report gave guidance on licensing impacts of the current plan and a thorough forecast of the possible financial implications. A pivotal aspect of the report was to model the effect that the proposed migration would have on the licensing arrangements for the top 30 software vendors.
The report included possible dual run licences during the migration itself and was presented alongside a heat map to ensure the client was aware of their exposure at each migration stage. The Heat Map together with the Vendor Migration Report gave a clear awareness of financial risk and impact on users during the migration.
This case study shows how key good communication is when looking at a Cloud migration. The Synyega team went to great lengths to ensure the reporting was as easily digestible for the client as possible, so had a greater effect on the outcome as was usable, timely and accurate.
Collaboration between Synyega and this banking client achieved savings exceeding £23 million (£4m in tangible savings delivered and £19m in costs avoided), importantly during the project the teams successfully mitigated migration risks proactively to reduce any adverse impacts.
