New conversations & connections at DigiGov Expo 2024
September 24th & 25th saw the Synyega team at our first DigiGov event – flexing our Public Sector muscles at the London ExCel as we geared up for a couple of days of great conversations.

We met with various people from across Central and Local government – councils, healthcare, transport and more – all looking for information and support with a variety of projects and initiatives. Several conversations focused on the increasing complexity of software licensing but something we really noticed was the size of the interest in our FinOps and GreenOps services.
The need to optimise cloud spend but also work to reduce the negative impact of cloud hosted workloads was a top priority for many people across all levels of government. Some were in dedicated Sustainability roles, but many others were engineers, project leads, and infrastructure managers – all looking to ensure their work helped both Britain and the environment. As well as cloud GreenOps, we also had some very interesting conversations about laptop refurbishment and how this can significantly reduce an organisation’s carbon footprint. As we put the finishing touches to our GreenOps Framework, we’re encouraged by the opportunity to drive sustainable practices throughout the public sector.
Another area where we found great synergy with many of the attendees was the importance of independent partners for ITAM, FinOps, and GreenOps. Several of the people we spoke to were cognizant of the potential for corporate relationships and structures to impact the advice given to public sector departments around software purchasing, asset management, cloud cost optimisation, and more. As one of the few (perhaps the only) independent service providers working across ITAM, FinOps, and GreenOps we welcomed these conversations and were happy to share our outlook on the market and the importance of independence.
Overall, we had some fantastic conversations with great people from across the government and are excited by some of the innovative approaches and ways of thinking that we saw. If you’d like to find out more about how Synyega can help through our range of services and training options including:
