We have just got back from Amsterdam after a couple of days of chatting, meeting up with friends (and making new ones), and hanging around having fun. No, it wasn’t an impromptu weekend getaway – it was SAMS Europe 2024!

For several of us it was our first time at the event and so we weren’t totally sure what to expect – what we found was 100s of fantastic end-users from across Europe, all eager to learn, improve, and take their SAM/ITAM practice to the next level. We had dozens of conversations with asset managers across ITAM topics such as Microsoft licensing, Oracle Java, SaaS management, and improving stakeholder engagement and found that cloud migrations and FinOps were also on many people’s agendas.

Synyega hosted an Icebreaker roundtable on Sunday evening, and we had some great discussions – I was still talking about ITAM driving successful cloud migrations at 22:35! The next day, I and my “Partner in Crime”, SteveO, led a whiteboard session focusing on creating a BYOL lifecycle and driving collaboration between ITAM & FinOps at the same time.

What really pleased us too was the number of end-users and organisations interested in our GreenOps and Sustainability offerings – seeing the focus on, and concern for, helping protect the planet was heartwarming and very positive! Synyega are passionate about helping ITAM and FinOps practitioners reduce waste and carbon emissions - and we can’t wait to assist organisations in taking the necessary steps to meet their sustainability goals.

It was also great to meet some of our partners (both existing and new) - other independent organisations that are looking to help improve the industry and give customer organisations more choice, freedom, and flexibility.

We have come back from Amsterdam energised, enthused, and excited for the future of ITAM and the opportunities we all have to keep making strides in what is a dynamic and impactful industry.

If you weren’t able to speak to us at the conference, drop us a line and let’s chat!

See you next time!

Choosing the best technology partner isn’t easy. Getting it right, or wrong, can have a significant impact on the success of your business. There’s no “one size fits all” when it comes to selecting a partner; the criteria you use to make the decision will vary depending on factors including your organisation’s maturity, budget, and immediate needs. Equally, it will depend on the partner’s strengths and weaknesses, ways of working, and what they look for in a client as to whether there’s a potential match.
